This Privacy Policy explains how VKR Self Drive Cars ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (package com.vkrcars.app) and related services. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

• Account & identity: name, mobile number, email address, and home city.
• KYC documents: driving licence number, Aadhaar number, and photographs/scans of your driving licence, Aadhaar, and a selfie — required to verify eligibility to rent a self-drive vehicle.
• Booking & trip data: vehicle bookings, trip details, and related history.
• Payment data: payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store your full card or banking details on our servers.
• Device permissions: camera and photo/media access are used solely to capture or upload the documents listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and verify your identity (KYC).
• To process vehicle bookings, trips, and payments.
• To send transactional messages such as one-time passwords (OTP) and booking updates via SMS.
• To provide customer support and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the app, including our SMS/OTP provider and our payment processor Razorpay, and with authorities where required by law.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. Access to personal and KYC information is restricted to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:

• Deletion is verified using an OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Once verified, your personal identifiers (name, email, licence, Aadhaar, photos, and documents) are permanently removed.
• Anonymised transaction records may be retained where required for accounting, tax, or legal purposes; these no longer identify you.

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for users who are 18 years or older and hold a valid driving licence. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
